Summary

The Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant program defrays start-up costs associated with the development of career and technical education programs to public community and technical colleges, and independent school districts. Formerly under the direction of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, oversight of the state-funded program is now coordinated by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).
The JET program provides grants to eligible entities to purchase and install equipment necessary for the development of career and technical education (CTE) courses or programs that lead to a license, certificate or post-secondary degree in a high-demand occupation.
JET grants provide potential economic returns through:
- Supporting new, emerging industries or high-demand occupations
- Offering new or expanded dual credit career and technical educational opportunities in public high schools
