The Foundation is organized and operated to make gifts, grants and other expenditures in support of charitable, religious, scientific, or educational causes in the State of Texas with a particular emphasis on benefitting such causes in Tarrant County, Texas.
Grants are available to human and social services, education, health care, women's and children's services, and arts and culture organizations within the Fort Worth/Tarrant County area.
History of Funding
The Ryan Foundation gave a total of $5,526,950 in 2018.
For any nonprofit organization that has NOT received previous funding from the foundation, you must first submit a brief one page letter of inquiry before submitting a full grant request. This letter should include background about your organization and description of the program/project for which you are seeking funding. This letter of inquiry should be emailed to: firstname.lastname@example.org
In general, grants are not made for purposes of:
- Professional conferences and symposia
- Out-of-state endeavors
- The Foundation neither lends nor grants money to individuals
Nonprofit organizations in the State of Texas are eligible. Special emphasis is placed on Tarrant County.
All grant decisions will be conveyed to the grantee organizations by written letter shortly after the board meetings. The Board meets in March, June, September and December each year.
Most awards range from $5,000 to $25,000.
